I’m a Business Broker and M&A Advisor with Transworld Business Advisors, helping business owners navigate the complex process of preparing for, marketing, negotiating, and completing the sale of privately held businesses.
What differentiates my approach is that I’ve spent much of my career on the business owner’s side of the table.
I hold both a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and a master’s degree in Taxation and have more than 25 years of business experience, including over 15 years in the accounting and tax industry. My background gives me the ability to dig beyond the surface-level numbers of a business and understand its financial performance, cash flow, operations, risks, opportunities, and the story those numbers tell a potential buyer.
I also understand business ownership firsthand.
As the founder and former owner of Red Rock Tax & Consulting, I built and operated a growing accounting and tax firm, completing multiple acquisitions and integrating three independent accounting practices along the way. During my ownership, we significantly increased recurring revenue, maintained strong organic growth, developed a management team, and built systems that allowed the company to operate without being dependent on me for every decision.
Ultimately, I went through the same process many of my clients are contemplating: I sold my business.
That experience changed the way I approach business brokerage. Selling a company is not simply a financial transaction. For many owners, the business represents years—or decades—of work, risk, relationships, employees, family sacrifice, and personal identity. Getting the deal closed matters, but so does understanding what the owner is actually trying to accomplish.
Today, through Transworld Business Advisors, I work with owners across a variety of industries, with an emphasis on larger and more complex transactions where financial analysis, deal structure, and preparation can materially impact the outcome.
I have particular expertise in accounting, tax, bookkeeping, and professional service firms. Having owned, acquired, merged, operated, and sold accounting practices myself, I understand many of the issues unique to these businesses—including recurring revenue, client concentration and retention, staffing, owner dependency, realization and margins, service mix, transition planning, and how buyers evaluate the quality and transferability of a firm's client base.
For larger transactions, my accounting and tax background also allows me to communicate effectively with buyers, CPAs, attorneys, lenders, and other professionals involved in the deal. I enjoy digging into the economics of a transaction, understanding what drives value, identifying potential obstacles early, and helping structure a deal that can actually make it through due diligence and closing.
My approach is straightforward: understand the owner's goals first, understand the business second, and then determine the best path forward.
Sometimes that means taking a business to market immediately. Other times, the better answer is to spend six months, a year, or even several years improving the company before selling. I would rather tell an owner they aren't ready to sell than push them into a transaction that doesn't accomplish their goals.
For business owners considering a sale, my objective is to maximize value while protecting confidentiality and minimizing disruption to the company. For buyers, my goal is to help identify quality opportunities, understand the underlying economics of the business, and navigate the acquisition process with clear expectations.
Buying or selling a privately held business is complicated. It requires financial understanding, negotiation, patience, judgment, and the ability to keep a transaction moving when inevitable challenges arise.
I bring the perspective of an accountant, entrepreneur, acquirer, former business owner, seller, and business broker to that process.
If you're considering selling your business, looking for an acquisition, or simply trying to understand what your company is worth and what you should be doing today to increase its value, I'm always willing to have a conversation.
