About Blenz Coffee
This Vancouver-based organic beverage brand has a huge following and over 65 cafes, but it still conserves an intimate feel. Blenz, also known as Blenz Coffee, focuses on creating handcrafted coffees, teas, fruit beverages and protein shakes using exclusively organic ingredients. Even the chain’s famous hot chocolate is made using real Belgian chocolate, offering clients the choice of dark, white or milk chocolate varieties.
Each café is designed to feel like a welcoming community hub, carefully built to allow lots of light into the spacious lounge spots. Blenz is known for its natural drinks that use popular organic herbs and spices such as matcha, yerba mate, lavender, ginger and rose buds. Other noteworthy ingredients include wild strawberries, vanilla beans, lemon, cloves and bergamot.
The brand’s innovative professional baristas love creating drinks that are picture perfect and tasty, such as signature Pink Lattes, Blue Lattes and other aromatic teas. Since Blenz never uses artificial flavorings or colorings, these obtain their striking appearance from natural ingredients such as beetroot and butterfly pea flower.

History
Blenz has always been a Canadian company at heart. The brand launched in 1992 as the passionate project of coffee lovers Geoffrey Hair, Brian Noble and Sarah Moen. The three co-founders were each especially fond of specific beverages, from gourmet coffee and real hot chocolate to healthy smoothies and organic tea.
From the beginning, the idea was to create amazing made-from-scratch drinks that catered to tea and coffee connoisseurs. The friends wanted people to be able to taste the difference, not just between coffee varieties, but also the brewing methods used.
The Blenz franchise started out with a single café in downtown Vancouver, on Robson Street. A little over 25 years later, it has over 65 specialty drink hotspots in British Columbia and several international locations.
Ideal Candidate
Potential franchisees should know that it’s not necessary to have previous experience with business administration or coffee shop management. The large amount of training provided by Blenz includes all of these needed skills. Blenz also handles site analysis, construction or lease negotiations, and securing of all building permits.
Optimally, owners should love coffee, tea and natural ingredients, which generates interest in the brand’s products. They also need an enthusiastic, positive attitude and good leadership skills.
Multiple template building styles let franchisees take advantage of existing demographics and surroundings, from kiosk cafés that excel in airports and universities to sidewalk cafés that are perfect for downtown spots near office buildings and bus stops. This means that it’s not necessary for owners to live close to specific parts of Vancouver or British Columbia.
