History
The first Embassy Suites Hilton was founded in 1984 in Kansas City – Overland Park, Missouri. It was originally founded by Holiday Corporation, which is known for its Holiday Inns. In 1990, Embassy Suites' parent company rebranded itself as The Promus Companies Incorporated, and in 1999, the brand officially joined the Hilton Family when Hilton merged with Promus.
In 2000, Embassy Suites demonstrated what it could really do by opening Landmark Embassy Suites New York City. The project was the brand's first mixed-use project and paved the way for its success in urban markets. That same year, Embassy Suites was recognized as the hotel with "Highest Guest Satisfaction among All-Suite Hotel Chains." In 2003, it earned the "Highest Guest Satisfaction Among Upscale Hotel Chains" award.
Over the past two decades, the brand has continued to earn similar honors, and in 2015 and 2016, the hotel was dubbed the #1 hotel brand for families.
Embassy Suites has never stopped innovating since its conception in 1984. It seems that with each new hotel it opens, it introduces a new concept.
