Marble Slab Creamery was founded in 1983 in Houston. In November 2018, its parent company Global Franchise Group Holdings was acquired by LS GFG Holdings. Marble Slab has shops in the United States and in other countries such as Mexico, Bahrain, Canada and Saudi Arabia. It prides itself on serving fresh, homemade ice cream that includes dairy from local farms as well as hand-rolled cones and unlimited mix-ins. The size of a typical store is 650 to 1,400 square feet. It got its start in malls and shopping centers but has since expanded to embrace nontraditional locations.
