About Bahama Buck's
Bahama Buck's restaurants sell several types of drinks and desserts, including shaved ice, coffee-based frozen desserts, sodas, and smoothies. There are both small and large restaurant locations that offer seating inside, as well as in-line stores and kiosk locations. All stores offer shaved ice, smoothies, sodas, and lemonade products. Some locations have additional menu items, such as Frostalattés (frozen coffee drinks), açai bowls, and fresh fruit items.
Shaved ice is the brand's flagship product. It is comprised of fluffy Sno (thinly shaved ice) and flavored syrup. Most flavors are fruit-based, but there are other options including bubblegum, root beer, and cheesecake. There are also several sour flavors available.
The brand strives to provide customers with the "Greatest Sno on Earth" and the opportunity to feel like they are on an island vacation. Bahama Buck's remains focused on a tropical decorating aesthetic and offers a wide selection of fruit flavors for their shaved ice, smoothie, and soda products.

Why Choose Bahama Buck's?
Franchisees may choose to open a Bahama Buck's if they are interested in a food industry opportunity that is different than a ubiquitous fast food restaurant or ice cream store. The franchise system is well-established, and owners may receive significant support and encouragement from the franchisor. Additionally, the laid-back island aesthetic may appeal to franchisees and give them a chance to provide customers with a relaxing, "vacation-like" feeling through tropical desserts.
Potential owners may have the opportunity to open multiple units or purchase operating units. There are several potential development opportunities, from small kiosks to large restaurants. Owners may also add a mobile truck to their operations, allowing them to potentially reach more customers. Additionally, the franchisor offers protected territory to every owner.

Training & Support
Franchisees must complete the franchisor's training program at least two weeks prior to opening their stores. The initial franchise fee covers the cost of the training program for the franchisee and one additional person, such as a manager. Training may occur at the franchise headquarters in Lubbock, TX, and/or at an operating Bahama Buck's business. On-site assistance at a new franchise may be available for an additional fee.
History
The first Bahama Buck's shaved ice restaurant opened in 1990 in Lubbock, Texas under company founder Ryan Blake Buchanan. He built the first store with help from family and friends, and he remains the CEO of the company. His wife, Kippi, oversees systemwide field operations.
Bahama Buck's incorporated in 1992, and the company has offered franchises since 1993. Currently, there are three company-operated Bahama Buck's locations. Trade Winds Distribution, LLC is an affiliate of Bahama Buck's that sells products, equipment, and services to franchisees.
Ideal Candidate
The franchisor seeks candidates who are dedicated to "providing a great time, every time!" The brand's aesthetic and the franchise system both center on a casual tropical theme, so potential owners are those who have a passion for the "island lifestyle." While owners are not required to personally manage their stores (especially if they have multi-unit development contracts), they must hire and oversee store managers. Good candidates are those who can meet the financial requirements and pass the franchisor's in-person interview process.
